This double bill of one-act plays features divergent comic takes on the subject of love.

A Phoenix Too Frequent by Christopher Fry, author of The Lady’s Not For Burning, is set in ancient Greece and concerns a young widow, Dynamene, who has gone to her husband’s tomb to starve herself to death so that she can join him in the afterlife. But when a handsome Roman soldier, Tegeus, wanders into the tomb, her resolve is put to the test...

Overruled by Bernard Shaw is about two married couples who both independently decide to travel around the world in opposite directions in order to have a break from each other. While travelling, Mr Lunn meets and falls for Mrs Juno, while the same thing happens to Mr Juno and Mrs Lunn. When all four end up in the same hotel lounge, they must work out how to resolve the situation.
