Open Day

Following last year's successful Open Day, the Club is again offering an opportunity for newer members to come along the the ADC theatre to find out about a few of the different things we commonly do when setting up a show during a get-in. This event is designed to be a learning opportunity in a no-stress environment with plenty of time for questions and hands-on practice. There'll be breaks between the sessions with time to get to know some of our members and find out informally what it is that we do over a cuppa and a biscuit or two.

We'll be starting the day with a tour of the theatre followed by a round robin of three sessions chosen from Lighting, Sound, Hemp Flying and Counterweight Flying with a good break in the middle for lunch at the local Maypole pub. We'll finish up the afternoon with a fun session on how to work under the dim lighting conditions of scene changes and accommodate the vagaries of our resident forgetful actor, Jon!

If you would like to attend, please use the form below to let us know which sessions you would like to take part in. Although we will do our very best to accommodate everyone, our group sizes must be limited by space restrictions in certain parts of the theatre. If in the unlikely situation that any issues do arise we will be in touch as soon as they become apparent. This event is designed to be a practical, hands-on day with some ladder climbing involved in the hemp and counterweight flying sessions, so please choose sensible clothing and footwear.
